I upgraded to MS Office 2016 mac the other day and have version 15.13.1 installed. PowerPoint is giving me fits. It will not allow me to save PowerPoint presentations to some folders. This is is true whether I create a new presentation or try to do a save-as for an older one I get a message that reads The document “Presentation” could not be saved as “Presentation”. I am having to save presentations to folders that have nothing to do with the topic just because it will allow me to save to the folder. I have made new folders and new subfolders; however, I'm still unable to save presentations where I want.
Can't save file in Powerpoint 2016 Can't save Powerpoint file to NAS which I could with Powerpoint 2011; no issue with Word or Excel 2016. Can save to local but can't see the file in Finder. Powerpoint not saving on Mac Mojave My new Powerpoint software (Version 16.20) will not let me save this ppt file on my Mac (running Mojave 10.14.2). I've tried changing the name to only include text/letters.
I use PowerPoint a lot for business and need to be able to rely on it working; however, I find myself with greater concern about it's ability to work properly while I'm putting together a slide slow for my father's memorial service that is needed in a couple of days. If you have marked the preference to not show the template gallery try reseting it and the restart your system. When you reopen PowerPoint you might get a screen welcoming you to the software. Respond to the prompts and then try saving again. Do the same thing in the other applications if you are also having problems saving.
BTW - in my opinion, as it currently stands, Office 2016 is a downgrade in capabilities from Office 2011. It is definitely not an upgrade. Richard V. Michaels [email protected] Provides free AuthorTec add-ins for Mac-Office and Win-Office. Thank you, Rich.
I have tried just about everything I can think of to get PowerPoint 2016 to work properly (e.g., reinstalling, etc.). Including your suggestion. The most valuable piece of information you provided was your concluding comment. From the moment I opened the Office 2016 applications, I was disappointed with the exception of PowerPoint. In that case, I was downright terrified since it worked so poorly I was putting my business at risk to count on it. Some functions that were straight forward in Office 2011, are now convoluted. Or missing altogether.
And I agree with you, I consider Office 2016 a downgrade from Office 2011. It looks like Microsoft merely attempted to refreshen Office and make it look 'new' by pushing the proverbial peas around the plate. Hence, I have gone back to Office 2011.

Thank you again, Rich! I appreciate the sanity check.

Now, how do I help tell the multitudes NOT to upgrade to Office 2016?
